After the 2022 reorganisation of districts in Andhra Pradesh, the old East Godavari district was divided into three separate districts :

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema
East Godavari
Additionally, the tribal area constituency Rampachodavaram now comes under:
Alluri Sitharama Raju
This reorganisation was implemented to improve administrative efficiency and governance at the district level.
